This Man

I am very very lucky to be married to this man. He really does complete me. For those of you that have never heard the story of Andrew and I and want to here is it. This is kind of amazing, because I can't tell you what i had for lunch yesterday, but although this was 12 years ago I remember everything. I was fourteen years old and at a local band competition is my home town. Being an eighth grader and seeing all the high school kids walking around hand in hand was enough to make anyone feel like having a boyfriend would be wonderful. I sat down to talk to my best friend at the time about this. We talked about how we would love to have boyfriends but we wanted more than that. We wanted good Christian boyfriends that we could get along with. My friend left to go get something to drink and I closed my eyes and prayed that if there was a tall, handsome, Christian, sweet boy here that played basketball that I was ok if he was sent my way. I think my list might have been a little longer than that maybe : ) Anyway, it probably wasn't more than 15 minutes saw some girls I went to school with talking with some boys I did not know. There was one boy who didn't look too involved in the conversation and he caught my eye, so I gathered all courage and went and introduced myself. We talked for the remained of the evening and found out he lived in a little town that was about 40 minutes away, but when you don't have a license that seems worlds away. We gave each other addresses and phone numbers. He was perfect to me. He had high standards was polite, very handsome, and he was a basketball player!!! I called him once and wrote him a couple of letters but never heard back from him, but never forgot about him. Four years later my parents and I decided to investigate the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I went to the teenage Sunday School class and introduced myself and did the remainder of the class. The teacher asked me if I knew any of the other students and I said I did. "I know Andrew," I said, "We met four years ago at a band competition." He said, "You were the one in the Kansas City Chiefs coat?" I did, and that was it, I was hooked : ) Let me just tell you that I know without a shadow of a doubt that the fervent prayers of 14 years are most certainly heard. Thank you Andrew for the most wonderful 9 years I could ask for.
